so i've officially moved into my thirties. On friday, I celebrated my thirty-first birthday. Funny, it sounds super, super old, but I don't feel that way. Actually, most of my classmates and aquantances have a hard time believing that i am thirty-one. I've had many people this past week gasp and say, "No way! you don't look any older then 26." I am totally flattered, but a bit fearful that maybe it is my clothing that is making me look young. I don't want to be one of those people who look old, but wear clothing like a 24 year-old. simply tacky. (turns out that i am wrong. after probing a couple friends, my energy, attitude and my face all seem young. phew! i feel much better.)
The birthday was great. I was super tired and had to work, but I had cake and many birthday wishes which just made everything great. Highlights were: sushi dinner with john and daniel and having drinks with friends the night before. MFA design (first and second year) friends showed up along with some MFA illustration kids. Becky made it out and gave me this great (and well-designed) book called On Bullshit and a gift certificate to accupuncture (sweet!). And lovely bridgette also came out with her boy. She gave me a DKNY bag that she had designed that was just back from getting produced along with this sweet neon green bag that is so ugly it is lovely. The night was rounded out with visits from jake and greg. all and all a good birthday.
thesis is moving along. i am a bit freaked right now. Because of two freelance jobs, i haven't had time to really touch my thesis in a week-and-a-half so i am behind. but i will hopefully be able to catch up this week. If not, then there will just have to be a couple of all nighters before i finish everything up in may.
here are some photos that i took for the site. pretty good for a non-professional food photographer working with out a stylist, studio or real lights.

mmmmmmmmmm........food photos making me hungry.
