check out punk planet this month. (PP67 Art and Design Issue) I have an article in the static section about the design blog, Speak Up! It is the first piece that i've written in over 5 years. I am happy with it and want to continue writting. Tune in for more updates on articles. Run out and get this now since it is on the newstands now. Great stuff.
Also I am in the upcoming issue of STEP magazine. My turkey invite for my friend Val won an award of Typeographic Excellence from the Type Diretor's Club and 20 of the most interesting winners were published in STEP. Yeehaw! Run out and get this one too.
Every time I see that invite image I put on five pounds, get the urge to flick mashed potatoes at my brother, get the sleepies and come over all jonesing to watch a TV football game from beneath half-closed eyelids while prone on the couch pinned beneath the weight of my own stomach.

Congratulations, master kirsten! I sent this to you through friendster, but I can't tell if it went through or not. I hate that thing. And then I remembered you had a blog. I guess I could just email you. Oh well...
Hey Kirsten--
I was talking to a coworker who said her boyfriend's company was looking for a graphic designer to hire on, and I remembered your post a while back. I told her that you probably wouldn't be interested in it because I assume you want to stay in NY and the main part of the job is doing web stuff for Home Depot, which she admitted was probably not that thrilling. But I thought I'd let you know anyway, in case you were interested. As far as I know, there's no print work, just web stuff, and Home Depot is not their only account, but really, I don't know anything about it. Anyway, hopefully you're already kneck-deep in a sweet NY job instead of the soul-depriving ones here in Chicago. Let me know how things are going. Later.
John
